Frustration with Google and OpenID

So I decided to try out Google's new integration with OpenID to set up a new account at stackoverflow.com
Turns out the integration works through Google's Blogger. I decide to give it a go and so it turns out that you HAVE to set up a blog in order to have an OpenID account (I currently used my blogger account to comment on friend's blogs). I go ahead and set one up. The next day, I attempt to log into stack ovwerflow only to find out that my OpenID account does not work. I figure maybe I messed up my blog address so I come here to check it out, and Blogspot has apparently clamped down my account as spam.

Maybe it's me, but saying Google now supports OpenID is a bit of a stretch, if not a complete misrepresentation.
